John is a Wiradjuri man who spent his childhood and teenage years living in Darlington Point, a small town on the Murrumbidgee River in south western NSW. John holds a Degree in Adult Education. He has an excellent understanding of Indigenous employment, education and training issues - a field where he has several decades of senior public sector management and direct consultancy experience.

John worked on the Indigenous Employment Policy in Canberra for three years until 2000 and, as part of this role, he managed programs dealing directly with Indigenous stakeholders and negotiating Indigenous employment initiatives with employers and industry groups nationally.

Since forming Indigenous Employment Specialists in 2000 ( the former name of Indigenous Success Australia) John has been actively working with both private and public sector employers across the country to recruit and retain Indigenous staff. He has an excellent understanding of current government policy in the Indigenous area and the operation of the employment services industry. His strengths include the ability to work within the policy and program frameworks to constructively engage with diverse stakeholder groups to achieve outcomes for mutual benefit.
